What is Panchakarma?
Panchakarma incorporates five natural ways to cleanse or detoxify, giving the body strength, while balancing three doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Vamanam (Emesis treatment or vomiting): This procedure is well supervised in Ayurvedic Healing Village, by highly trained therapists at our certified Panchakarma hospital. Vamanam is urged to eliminate Kapha, which causes a lot of mucus. Pulmonary congestion causes recurrent attacks of bronchitis, chills and coughs. Vamanam is the best treatment for Kapha-related diseases, as well as a chronic skin disease such as psoriasis.
Virechanam (Purification): To eliminate toxins from the intestines by providing medical cleansing or laxative therapy, Virechanam is the most effective treatment for jaundice and hemorrhoids.
Aasthaapana / Niruham: An enema that uses quath or Kashaya Vasti to combat the most common vata disease, (Vata is high in the colon). Vasti incorporates the introduction of a herbal remedy on the part, reducing constipation, kidney stones, back pain, sciatica and other types of joint pain.
Anuvaasan (Enema oil): This is given to patients with diabetes, anemia and obesity. All diseases that increase Vata, such as arthritis, paralysis, constipation, arthritis, urinary incontinence and fertility benefit from what Anuvaasan does.
Nasyam: Inhaling oily oil through the nose, removes any ointment collected in the area of the sinus, throat, nose or head. The patient's body is massaged from the shoulders upward, causing him to sweat. The exact dose of the herbal medicine is poured into the nose as the patient draws. During this procedure, the area around the nose, neck, shoulders, palm, and feet is moved. This is especially helpful in situations such as sinusitis, migraine, chronic colds, and asthma. In the event of hemiplegia and facial paralysis, nasyam is very effective.
